The brief

A political advocacy organisation was spending hours every day manually scanning New Zealand media to know what was being said, where, and in what tone. They needed that coverage captured and summarised automatically, every morning.

What we built

An automated media-monitoring system that continuously scans every major NZ outlet, identifies relevant articles, and classifies them by topic and sentiment using natural-language processing. Each day it produces a briefing report — the stories that matter, grouped and summarised — delivered without anyone lifting a finger.

The approach

A resilient data pipeline handles collection across many sources; an NLP layer handles relevance filtering, classification and summarisation. The output is designed to read like a human-written brief, not a raw feed dump.

The outcome

Hours of daily manual scanning and analysis replaced by an automated pipeline, so the team starts each day with a complete, digestible picture of the coverage.
